Reset Windows' Administrator Password
Did you forget your logon password?
Now, you can reset your password using one of the following methods, try the first method, and if it doesn't work try the second one:- Method (1) :
Use this method only if you are not using the windows built in account of the administrator, all what you have to do is when prompt for your user name and password, in user name field type "Administrator" and leave the password field blank then press enter, if you are using the windows xp welcome screen, press (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) twice, the logon window will appear then in user name field type "Administrator" and leave the password field blank then press enter. If this method doesn't work use the second one. - Method (2) :
Simple Linux software that can boot the computer and reset the windows' administrator password, download its CD image file from here.
- burn this CD image file to a CD.
- Boot your computer using this CD, the Linux software will run automatically.
- In the command prompt type "d" then press enter.
- Type the partition number on which windows installed as shown in the figure.

- When prompt for the registry path, press enter.
- Type "1" to reset the password then press enter.
- Type "1" to edit user data and password, and then press enter.
- Type the user name which you want to reset, and then press enter.
- The account properties will display and you will prompt to type your new password, type "*" for blank password, you will see a confirmation message, type "y" then press enter.

- Type "!" to quit. When prompt "what to do?", type "q".
- When prompt "About write file(s) back! Do it? [n]" type "y".
- When prompt "New run [n]", type "n" then press enter.
- Restart your computer, and when prompt for your password, leave it blank.
